How to play

  • Four players use two decks (108 cards with 4 jokers); partners sit opposite. Everyone gets 25 cards and 8 form the kitty. Each team has a level starting at 2, and the dealer team’s level is this hand’s level rank.
  • While cards are dealt you may show a level card to make its suit trump. A pair of level cards of one suit overrides a single, and a pair of jokers declares no trump (big jokers highest). You may reinforce your own single to a pair. In the first hand the declarer becomes dealer; if nobody declares, the kitty is turned up to pick trump.
  • The dealer picks up the kitty, buries 8 cards and leads: a single, a pair, a tractor (consecutive pairs in one suit), or a “throw” of several unbeatable combinations in one suit.
  • Follow the led suit and match its shape as far as you can: pairs with pairs; against a tractor, play a tractor of the same length if you have one, otherwise as many pairs as you can. When void you may trump in with the same shape or discard. The highest play wins the trick and leads next.
  • 5s, 10s and Ks are point cards, 200 in total. Points won by the attackers (the non-dealer team) add up; if they win the last trick, the kitty’s points are added with a multiplier (single ×2, pair ×4, tractors more).
  • Below 80 points the dealer team levels up and the dealer’s partner deals next. With 80+ the attackers take over as dealer, and from 120 they also level up. Online each move has 30 seconds (45 for burying); on timeout a card is played for you and auto-play turns on.
