How to play

  • A double-six set has 28 tiles, and each half shows 0–6 pips. 2–4 players, each playing for themselves.
  • Draw game: 7 tiles each with 2 players, 5 each with 3–4; the rest form the boneyard. Block game: 7 tiles each; any extras are set aside unused.
  • In the first hand, the player with the highest double opens with it. If nobody has a double, the highest-pip tile opens. In later hands, the previous hand's winner opens with any tile.
  • On your turn, add a tile to one end of the line of play; the touching halves must show the same number. Doubles are placed crosswise and still count as a single number.
  • If you can't play: in the Draw game, draw from the boneyard until you get a playable tile, then play it; if the boneyard runs out, pass. In the Block game, simply pass.
  • The first player to play all their tiles wins the hand and scores the total pips left in the other players' hands.
  • If no one can play, the hand is blocked. The player with the fewest pips left wins and scores the other players' pips minus their own. If the lowest totals are tied, nobody scores this hand.
  • The first to reach the target score (50, 100 or 150) wins the match. Online, each move has a 20-second limit; on timeout your highest-pip tile is played and auto-play takes over.

Detailed rules and controls

Scoring
  • Going out: score the total pips left in the other players' hands.
  • Blocked: the player with the fewest pips scores the other players' pips minus their own.
  • If a blocked hand has a tie for the fewest pips, nobody scores.
  • After a blocked hand with a tie for the fewest pips, the next hand's opener is decided as in the first hand.
Controls
  • Tap a tile to select it, then tap "Play this tile" or a drop spot at one end of the line.
  • If a tile fits both ends, choose which number's end to play it on.
  • With no playable tile, you draw or pass automatically.

Frequently asked questions

If a tile fits both ends, which end should I play it on?

The ends are 3 and 5, and you hold 5-6 and 3-2. Playing 5-6 makes the ends 3 and 6; playing 3-2 makes them 2 and 5. Try to leave ends showing numbers you hold plenty of, so your next turn is easier. If someone else goes out first, the pips left in your hand go to them, so play high-pip tiles early.
